Higher Testosterone Levels Linked to Greater Mental Sharpness in Older Men

According to the study published in the April issue of the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, men with high levels of free, bioavailable (testosterone not bound to a protein) testosterone performed a better on such tests than men with lower levels. The investigators found no link between total testosterone and mental performance.

In the study, 310 men with an average age of 73 years took three cognition tests involving memory, learning, language and other mental abilities.

The men in the study with higher levels of free testosterone scored significantly higher on these cognitive tests than men with lower levels.

This is just one of many studies showing the importance of testosterone on mental and physical health and performance, not to mention bigger biceps!
